MORNING WATCH NOTES:
These verses mark a shift in the focus of Ezekiel‘s message to God‘s people. But first God reminds Ezekiel of his duty as a watchman on the wall. The watchman’s duties are two-fold: 1) watch for signs of an enemy advancing; 2) warn the people of the city clearly.
If the people Ignore the watchmen and they die, the responsibility is theirs. But if the watchman sees the enemy and does not sound the alarm to warn the people, he will be held responsible for their demise. He will be accountable to God for their deaths.
Lord, I am reminded of my sentinel orders: stand faithfully, watch vigilantly, pray earnestly, speak/act boldly.
