I received an email this morning from my U.S. Senator, John Cornyn. He spoke of the values that are under attack in America. He spoke of the importance of religious freedom. He spoke of the attacks on the Jewish community on our college campuses.
This was his prayer and I join him in this prayer: “I will pray for guidance, protection from our enemies, mercy, and steadfast love. I will pray for the security, peace, and prosperity of our nation. And I will pray for God’s light to shine upon the world.”
It is hard to understand why some hate America so. It is nothing more than a pure sense of evil and satanic forces. Evil hates all for which America has stood. It is the same force of satanic evil that put Christ on the cross.
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (Eph 6:12)
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (1Co 10:3-5).
