In the reigning days of wicked King Jehoiakim, Jeremiah announces judgment, not only on Judah, but on the surrounding nations as well. Babylon is on the rise. Egypt is about to fall, leaving Babylon as the reigning superpower. Hear the words of judgment on Egypt for her pride, arrogance and reliance upon her military night.
“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says, ‘I will punish [Egypt] and all her so-called gods, her rulers, and all those who follow those false gods.’” Yet God is merciful to all people, and yet at some point in the future, Egypt shall recover. Lord, I will put my trust in no other God but Jehovah.
